Chiara Gatti (Insolite natività, Interlinea,

Como,e ancora alla grande vetrata con le storie della vita della
Vergine del Duomo di Milano,a Le due madri del Segantini, fino alla
Maternità di Wildt. Si spazia nei secoli su un tema che tutti i
grandi pittori hanno rappresentato. Il Natale diventa storia,arte,
teologia e fede.
Si sa che solo i Vangeli di Luca e
Matteo ci descrivono la nascita di Cristo,mentre nei vangeli
apocrifi l’evento vive di aspetti magico-fiabeschi,basti pensare
alla “nube luminosa” che secondo il Protovangeli di Giacomo
avvolse la grotta di Betlemme in quella fatidica notte;nube che si
ritrova negli affreschi di Santa Maria Foris portas a
Castelseprio,con la madonna stremata dal parto che giace su un
pagliericcio all’interno della grotta.Lo scritto e la descrizione
delle icone vive di un fascino incredibile, che ingemma la plaquette
di un linguaggio storico popolare capace di avvicinare un pubblico
vario e non sempre colto. Chiara Gatti,storica dell’arte, ha messo
in piedi una piccola ricerca che sorprende, incuriosisce, allarga i
confini dell’evento oltre i maggiori pittori che tutti conoscono e
assedia la terra lombarda non solo con la fede che la caratterizza
nelle scelte, ma con la competenza storico-artistica che gli
appartiene e oggi si certifica e si incornicia significativamente.

misteri dell’incarnazione – sottolinea l’autrice – la Lombardia ha
svolto un ruolo importane. Un po’ perché, come sosteneva il grande
storico dell’arte Roberto Longhi, il sentimento della terra tipico
della scuola lombarda favorì una lettura dei sacri eventi guidata da
un sesto senso, comune a tutti gli artisti attivi sul territorio, per
la natura e la verità delle cose. E un po’ perché, intorno a
Milano, e più a nord, lungo la cosiddetta “cintura dei
santuari” [...] la regione fu sempre teatro di una ricerca
artistica colta ed elevata, in grado di armonizzare tradizioni di
origini diverse [...] mai disgiunte dalle esigenze delle comunità
contadine e mai prive di un potere divulgativo volto all’adesione
accorata dei fedeli”.
